FAQ
Questions, answered.
The short version of how selling through Carlo works.
How much does it cost to sell my car?
Nothing. Listing is free and there is no fee when you sell. The winning dealer pays Carlo a fee on completion.
How quickly can I sell?
A standard auction runs for three days. Choose a quick sale and your car is queued for the next day's auction. Once you accept an offer, the dealer collects and pays within days.
Do I have to accept an offer?
No. You see the best offers and take one or walk away. There is no obligation at any point.
How and when do I get paid?
The winning dealer pays you directly by bank transfer when they collect the car. Carlo never holds your money.
What if there is finance on the car?
The dealer settles the outstanding finance with your lender as part of the sale and pays you the balance.
Who are the dealers bidding on my car?
Verified Irish motor dealers. Every dealer on the platform is a registered business, checked before they can bid.
Can the dealer change the price at collection?
The dealer inspects the car against your listing on collection, so keep your listing accurate. A dealer who renegotiates without justification loses access to the platform.
Who handles the paperwork?
The dealer completes the change of ownership with the Department of Transport. You simply hand over the keys and any documentation.
I'm a dealer. How do I join?
